Alba Varden

Soul DIgger | 2010-07-27 14:18 | Written By: by Air Charts

Image conscious fashionistas releasing a 'concept' EP with an Alice In Wonderland theme.  I doubt Alba Varden will find too many fencesitters in their career.

They're painfully hipsterish (all manicured facial hair, designer clothes and glasses) and the music is straight from the angular dance rock school of Van She and friends (I thought it was over a couple of years ago!?). But if you ignore the pretence there's substance, absolutely killer hooks and a film-clip that is downright stunning. Sexy and stunning.

Soul Digger is an interesting song, once you get past the dirge of an intro and the tune kicks into gear there's no turning back. A little filler, the rest killer.

Alba Varden's debut EP features a rocking M-Phazes remix of Soul Digger. No doubt it has the potential to tear up dancefloors from Revolver to One Six One... And intriguing band
