Big Scary

4 Seasons | 2010-12-05 23:11 | Written By: by AIR

The last 12 months has seen Big Scary release 4 EPs. One for each season. Each a beautifully crafted collection of three or four songs changing on a whim between meloncholy folk, pop and garage rock. Grand gestures and precise details. There's vitality in the music and a depth to the compositions that belies the duo's youth.

Without a record label or a distribution deal the band have built a name for themselves with national tours of their enigmatic live show and support on Triple J and community radio.

The Big Scary's new release is 4 Seasons, The 4 collected EP's on one disc... It makes for compelling listening, works as an album and makes me genuinely excited about what this band might do in the future.

Autumn (the clip above) is one of many highlights from the album.
