Busby Marou

I doubt that we at AIR were the only people that thought "Busby Marou" was the name of a person. We discussed Busby in the AIR offices, we imagined him to be a Perry Keyes type character, a wisened no-frills cab driver that is at his most eloquent with a 6 string in his hand. Or perhaps Busby sang Australiana country music as a kind of unheralded John WIlliamson?
After seeing Busby Marou appear in the Jagermeister Independent Charts with a new single ('he'd' been there before with 'his' self-titled debut album through MGM). We decided to check out "his" music and in doing so discovered that 'his' name is actually 'their' name, Thomas Busby and Jeremy Marou... makes sense don't it? Anyway, beside the point.
Since then we've been seeing them everywhere. In our charts, as one of the more unheralded contributors to the "He Will Have His Way" album, winning Q Music Awards, winning Deadly Awards and playing high profile country, folk and NRL pre-match entertainment gigs... seems we're the last to jump onto the bandwagon.
Busby Marou's play simple, graceful and relatively unadorned folk music, two part harmonies and in the case of this pretty song an absolutely flabergastingly great Ukelele solo. We've never seen or heard anything on a Uke like it...
