Love Connection

Nobody Knows | 2012-01-16 11:48 | Written By: by AIR

Take the noncholance of a band like The Twerps and combine them with the wide screen psychadelia of a band like The Flaming Lips or Tame Impala and you might end up with a song that sounds something like Nobody Knows by Love Connection.

Lo-fi and uplifting, epic but unpretentious, delicate but expansive, perhaps the name of the album from which it comes from, the soon to be released "Euphoria" describes the song better than we can.

"Nobody Knows" is the first song off Love Connection's second album, the follow up to their critically acclaimed self titled debut. The song stutters into gear, drums and guitars tripping over eachother until momentum takes hold and shimmering synths, reverb drenched guitars and huge drums drive the song forward, eventually supporting a simple melodic vocal refrain. We don't get to hear more than 8 vocal lines before the crashing cymbals, guitars and synths take centre stage again. Perfect brevity. In 2 minutes and 50 seconds I'm convinced that "Euphoria" is an album that I'll need to own. It's out through Sensory Projects soon, you can download Nobody Knows here.
